Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, blessed to be an active part of the Liturgy of the Mass, serve our comminity by assisting the celebrant through the distribution of Holy Communion on Saturday evening and Sunday celebrations of the Mass, holy days of obligation, and ministry to our homebound members. We warmly welcome all interested parishioners called to join this sacred ministry.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion is a term used in the Roman Catholic Church for lay people who assist in distributing Communion to members of the congregation during Mass and at home. Volunteers need to attend training before being commissioned to serve. Once commissioned, volunteers are able to select preferred Mass times and days.
The initial training is two hours.
Arrive at scheduled Mass at least fifteen minutes before the Mass start time.
